Taphony and the Time Loop

Time flies when you’re stuck reliving the same mistake over and over again.

Short Synopsis

When two mischievous aliens called Taphony and the Time Loop show up, London becomes trapped in an endlessly repeating day. For once, being late for school might actually be the least of everyone’s problems.

Extended Storyline

The day starts like any other in Gryffen’s mansion: Starkey is running late, Darius is complaining, Jorjie is rolling her eyes, and Gryffen is rambling about quantum anomalies before his morning tea. Then—bang!—a burst of temporal energy rattles the house, and everything resets.

And then it happens again.

And again.

And again.

Before long, everyone realizes they’re trapped in some sort of time loop. Except for K-9, who, thanks to his advanced systems and impeccable sense of déjà vu, is the only one retaining memories between loops. The culprit? Two time-traveling alien tricksters known as Taphony and the Time Loop (because apparently even intergalactic troublemakers love a pun).

Taphony and her partner delight in bending reality for fun, turning London into their personal playground. Every reset lets them tweak events just a little—an extra explosion here, a wardrobe malfunction there, and the occasional inexplicable appearance of a marching band in the streets. To them, time is a toy. To everyone else, it’s an increasingly exhausting nightmare.

K-9 realizes the duo’s temporal manipulation is powered by a device that’s dangerously unstable. If it continues looping, the entire timeline could collapse—think of it as a cosmic washing machine stuck on “spin” until it tears itself apart. With Gryffen’s help, K-9 devises a plan to disrupt the loop by syncing his internal chronometer with the anomaly’s frequency. The result? K-9 becomes a walking paradox, something that even confuses time itself.

Meanwhile, the team works to distract Taphony long enough for K-9 to get close to the device. Cue a chaotic sequence of repeated attempts, slapstick failures, and one particularly memorable loop where Darius accidentally declares his undying love for a hologram. Finally, in the loop-that-must-be-the-last-one, K-9 manages to override the anomaly, forcing the time loop to collapse and sending Taphony and her partner back into the temporal ether—presumably to annoy some other unfortunate civilization.

The world returns to normal, though Gryffen swears he’s still seeing echoes of the loop (“Or maybe I just forgot to reset the clocks again”). K-9, having saved time itself yet again, gives one of his trademark modestly smug comments: “Temporal stability restored. Perhaps now, Master Gryffen, you will consider punctuality.”
