The Feast of the Drowned

When the dead return from the deep, it’s never just for a casual swim.

Short Synopsis

The Doctor, Rose, and Mickey face watery apparitions, a ghost ship, and a sinister alien plot that makes you think twice about answering that eerie call from the sea. Because if your dead friend rings from the Thames, maybe just… don’t pick up.

Extended Storyline

London has seen its fair share of weirdness — alien invasions, Christmas trees that attack, the usual — but this time, it’s something wet, clingy, and decidedly unfriendly. A Royal Navy ship called the HMS Ascendant has sunk under mysterious circumstances, taking most of its crew with it. Now, months later, the dead sailors are back — or rather, their spectral, dripping forms are. And they’ve got one request: “Come to me…”

Rose’s friend Keisha starts seeing one of these ghostly sailors, her brother, who supposedly died aboard the Ascendant. Naturally, the Doctor gets involved because “ghosts” usually translate to “aliens with bad social skills.” With Rose and a semi-reluctant Mickey in tow, he follows the waterlogged trail to the Thames and beyond.

Turns out the so-called spirits are the victims of an alien species called the Hisk — giant, tentacled, and extremely fond of aquatic real estate. They’re planning to flood Earth (because of course they are) and make humanity their new breeding stock. Which, given their slimy aesthetic, is about as romantic as a blind date with a sea cucumber.

Meanwhile, Rose finds herself in emotional turmoil, caught between loyalty to her friends, growing feelings for the Doctor, and the constant reminder that dating a Time Lord is like trying to have a normal relationship with a hurricane. Mickey, bless him, just wants to survive the whole ordeal without being eaten by something with gills.

After the usual round of running, technobabble, and last-minute saves, the Doctor turns the tide — literally — and sends the Hisk back into the abyss. The day is saved, but not without scars. Rose has faced ghosts, grief, and gallons of saltwater trauma, and Mickey… well, he probably goes home to burn his swimsuit.
