Because nothing says “first week of school” like killer teachers, exploding lights, and the overwhelming stench of alien flatulence.
Short Synopsis
Maria and Luke start at their new school, only to discover that the faculty have some very smelly secrets. When the Slitheen — those gassy green monsters from Doctor Who’s “Aliens of London” — infiltrate Park Vale High disguised as staff, it’s up to Sarah Jane, Maria, Luke, and newcomer Clyde to stop a plan involving power surges, alien tech, and the world’s most unfortunate biology lesson.
Extended Storyline
It’s a new term at Park Vale High, and Sarah Jane is sending Luke off to school for the first time. He’s only a few days old (technically), but already more qualified than most of the teachers. Maria is thrilled to have a friend, Luke is nervous, and Sarah Jane is probably wondering if alien parenting comes with a manual.
At school, Luke and Maria meet Clyde Langer — cheeky, charming, and clearly auditioning to be the class clown andseries regular. Their day of awkward introductions quickly turns strange when the teachers start acting even weirder than usual. Lights flicker, gadgets fry, and the headmaster has the kind of grin that screams “I’m secretly an alien who snacks on electricity.”
Spoiler: he is.
It turns out the school staff are actually Slitheen, a family of alien criminals who, after their unfortunate defeat on Doctor Who, have decided to downgrade from “world domination” to “school-based energy theft.” (A natural career progression, really.) Their plan? Siphon off energy from Earth’s power grid using the school’s systems — while passing themselves off as educators. Frankly, it’s the most believable Ofsted report in history.
Sarah Jane, of course, senses something off — and it’s not just the smell. She and Mr. Smith, her attic-dwelling supercomputer, do some digging and uncover the Slitheen plot. Cue frantic school infiltration, techy talk, and plenty of running down corridors — because it’s not a proper Doctor Who spin-off unless people are sprinting past lockers.
Our young heroes sneak back into the school to stop the Slitheen, only to discover that Luke’s alien-enhanced brain makes him particularly tasty to the overgrown green gasbags. Fortunately, he’s also clever enough to turn the tables, reverse the polarity (of course), and fry the Slitheen with their own energy. There’s slime, there’s chaos, and there’s enough static electricity to power Cardiff for a week.
The Slitheen pop like overfilled water balloons, Sarah Jane sweeps in to save the day (again), and Clyde officially joins the team — because after you’ve watched your teachers explode into green goo, you might as well commit to the weirdness full-time.
